The 2018 edition of Ecomondo – Key Energy, the fair about green economy held in Rimini, hosted the presentation of the first Italian full electric quadricycle conceived to transport goods and designed with automotive standards. The characteristics of this vehicle produced by Mecaprom Motors with 700 kg capacity are summed up in its own name, Epic0, where ‘E’ stands for Electric, ‘pic’ for small (meaning ‘piccolo’ in Italian) and the figure 0 for zero emissions. It is a compact electric vehicle classified as a heavy quadricycle in the commercial version with L7e Cu homologation. The project aims to meet the needs of the so-called ‘last mile’ distribution of goods and of distribution in general. As already happens in many other countries, the project provides customers with a vehicle capable of moving within urban centers without impacting on the environment, as well as reducing the maintenance costs compared to endothermic traction systems. Epic0 has compact dimensions (1.5 m frontal width and 3.7 m length), a load surface of 2.2 square meters, 700 kg capacity and it can cover up to 170 km with just one charge.
On the first day of the fair (November 6, 2018) the newborn Epic0 was officially unveiled to the public directly by its creators Mr Cristiano Regis (CEO of Mecaprom Motors ltd) and Mr Fabrizio Regis (CTO).
Epic0 will be soon joined by Epic0 Compact, a model measuring 1.5 m width, 3.05 m length and 400 kg capacity, an ideal solution to transport any type of good for which small dimensions are fundamental. The presentation event was also attended by Mr Olivier Pontreau, head of Robert Bosch workshops network in southern Europe, who announced the official agreement to provide after-sales assistance to Epic0 buyers throughout the network of Bosch Car Service and AutoCrew.
